Oasia is a new addition to the Far East hotel group. Barely two years-old when we visited, the entire place radiated cleanliness and modern luxury. To add warmth to the modern minimalist decor, the lobby has been decorated with raw wood furniture. The reception was friendly and efficient. I had mentioned during my booking that our vacation in Singapore was for our honeymoon and the manager kept that in mind and offered us coupons for their cafe on the 21st floor. \u00a0Although it was an upper class accommodation, the staff was unpretentious and welcoming. One of the things I despise the most is the unpleasant attitude of the staff when you go to a pricier hotel or store. Can’t we shop luxury brands but still be down-to-earth? Once inside our room on the 18th floor, we were welcomed by floor-to-ceiling windows on two whole walls. The view could not be called breathtaking since it was on other high-rises but we still had a view on the hotel pool, which was nice. The wall separating the bathroom and bedroom was partially glass which added to the modern feel. Every time we went out, we took the elevator directly to Basement level 3, which connects to Novena metro station. There is no better way to visit the country than by using their well-designed transit system. Every attraction, restaurant felt like it was within a few steps reach. Especially if you like to make pit-stops back to the hotel during the day, for a quick break or use of the washroom, this hotel is the best.<\/p>\n

PROs:<\/p>\n

– location, location, location!<\/p>\n

– clean, great sleep quality and good service<\/p>\n

– boutique hotel, very nice decor and style. Pleasant to the eye.<\/p>\n

CONs:<\/p>\n

– relatively pricey, although everything is pricier in Singapore. We had paid 240 CAD per night for a deluxe room.<\/p>\n

– small rooms, we had barely enough space to open both suitcases at the same time.<\/p>\n

– no transport to the airport, so you have to hire a cab.<\/p>\n

TIPS:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

– Ask for a corner room, as you’ll have more windows for a better view and increased privacy.<\/em><\/p>\n

– Upon arrival at Changi Int’l, there is a booth for hotel transfers by bus. The tickets are 9$ SGD per adult one way. There is no return transport back to the airport at the end of your stay though. <\/em><\/p>\n

– Have your front desk hire a regular cab for you, or, as we did, hire an Uber driver for an enhanced experience. We were picked up by a very polite gentleman dressed up in shirt and dress pants in his equally classy Mercedes E350. The interior of the car was clean and did not smell like smoke, which I greatly appreciated. He was very friendly and shared his story with us all the way to the airport.
