With so many places we wanted to visit but with so little time on hand, some compromises needed to be made. So out of our 18 days vacation, only three were set for our stay in Singapore.

Singapore, smallest country in Asia but full to the edges of cultural diversity. The first time the richness of this place hit me is in the subway. We stayed in The Oasia Hotel (more detailed review here) which has direct access to Novena metro station. As we waited for the train to arrive, I looked around and what I see makes me feel right at home. The people around me were all different: Singaporeans of course, Malaysians, Chinese, Indians, Caucasians compose the population of this beautiful place. We were tourists but felt like we fit right in and could be on our way home from work like everyone else at that time.

Singapore is a jewel for food lovers. There were just not enough meal times during our three-day stay to reasonably justify tasting so many different restaurants. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed trying out the Malaysian Laksa, the Chinese Hainan chicken and the Singaporean Chili crab.

<a
